When I was in Clevedon (Somerset, England) I saw these lovely flowering pink and white Cyclamen flowers in bloom right after a rain shower. It was covered with little drops of rain all over it and they looked so fresh and charming! Cyclamen is a species of perennial flowering plants in the family Primulaceae. They grow from tubers and are valued for their flowers with 5 upswept petals and variably patterned leaves.

Clevedon Pier
This is a beautiful image of the Clevedon Pier one evening and the lights across the pier were glowing with their soft light. It was a foggy night and it was hard to see Wales across the Severn Estuary (Bristol Channel). This pier is located in the seaside town of Clevedon in Somerset, England and was built back in 1869 and it has been described by Sir John Betjeman, as "the most beautiful pier in England".

Steep Holm Island
This is a view of Steep Holm Island located in the Bristol Channel is part of North Somerset, England. I took this picture while standing on a hilltop from the Poet's Walk in Clevedon. The island is formed of Carboniferous Limestone. According to legend, first recorded by John Leland in the 16th century, Saint Gildas, the author of De Excidio et Conquestu Britanniae (Latin for "On the Ruin and Conquest of Britain"), lived on Steep Holm during the 6th century. He arrived on Steep Holm after visiting his friend Saint Cadoc, who lived on Flat Holm (neighboring island) as a hermit.

Jesus on Cross Statue
This is a beautifully carved statue or headstone located at the St. Andrew's Church Cemetery in Clevedon, Somerset, England. The cemetery is up on the hilltop and is part of the Poet's Walk along the Bristol Channel and Severn Estuary. What a lovely memorial this loved one was given. Not pictured was a quote on the base of it which said, "Lord have mercy by thy passion bring our souls to thy salvation."

The Lookout Window View of Clevedon Pier
This is a view from the window of The Lookout tower along the Poet's Walk in Clevedon, Somerset, England. This look out tower was built circa 1835 by Ferdinand Beeston. It is said to have been used by the Finzel Family sugar importers in the mid 19th century to view sugar ships coming from the West Indies. It was restored in 2006 by the Clevedon Civic Society, Yancec, North Somerset Council, Clevedon Town Council, John Gent and Michael Hale. The lovely view you see is the Clevedon Pier and the shore line of Wales in the distance.

The Clevedon Shore and Pier
This is a charming view of the shoreline looking towards the old Clevedon Pier. In the background, you can see Wales. Notice the way the trees are shaped? That is due to the high winds that blow from the Bristol Channel and Severn Estuary. The Clevedon Pier goes back to 1869 and was designated a Grade I listed building in 2001.

Angel Praying Statue
This is a charming old statue of a kneeling Guardian Angel on a grave in the St. Andrew's Church Cemetery in Clevedon, Somerset, England. This cemetery is up on a hilltop along the Bristol Channel and the cemetery is hit with lots of water and high winds causing the headstones and statues to have lots of wear and tear on them. It is situated on the Poet's Walk, as well, which generates lots of visitors. I wonder if this sweet Angel is watching over someone's dear child from the last century?

Old Celtic Cross Headstone
Many of the headstones have shifted and tilted over the years in this cemetery (St. Andrew's Churche, Clevedon, Somerset, England) with the severe weather it receives being on this cliftop with high winds and water the hits it from the Bristol Channel. This is a cross for Thomas and Fanny Cowan who were born in 1839 and 1840. The cross says "Death is swallowed up in victory."

Jesu Mercy Tombstone Cross
Saw this lovely old turn of the century cross headstone in St. Andrew's Cemetery. This church and cemetery is located on the hillside of the Poet's Walk and along the Bristol Chanel. It is also the burial place of Arthur Hallam, subject of the poem In Memoriam A.H.H. by his friend Alfred, Lord Tennyson.

Vintage Sunbeam Automobile
I loved the look of this vintage Sunbeam automobile! This picture was taken in front of the Walton Park Hotel in Clevedon, Somerset, England. Sunbeam Motor Car Company Limited was a British motor car manufacturer with its works at Moorfields in Blakenhall, a suburb of Wolverhampton in the county of Staffordshire —now West Midlands. Its Sunbeam name had been registered by John Marston in 1888 for his bicycle manufacturing business and the Sunbeam motor car manufacture began in 1901.

Arched North Door Entrance To Rosslyn Chape
This is a photo looking through the North door entrance into Rosslyn Chapel which resides in the little town of Roslin, Midlothian, Scotland. The chapel was founded by William Sinclair, 1st Earl of Caithness of the Scoto-Norman Sinclair family in the 15th century. It has been thought that the Knights Templars brought the Holy Grail here according to Dan Brown’s book The Da Vinci Code. I love how in this photo you see multiple layers of arches: the North door entrance (where the men would enter), the arched pillars inside the chapel and the South door entrance (where the women would enter the chapel).
