Watching the sun set here was such a beautiful site to see. Very calm and tranquil as well as inspiring. Green Heron

This was a beautiful Green Heron that I saw at George Georpe Park's pond located in Clinton Township, Michigan. An interesting fact about Green Herons: They are one of the few species of animal known to use tools. In particular, they commonly use bread crusts, insects, or other items as bait. The bait is dropped onto the surface of a body of water in order to lure fish. When a fish takes the bait, the green heron will then grab and eat the fish. A Home in My Heart

One day while walking through a nearby park on a lovely sunny fall day, I looked up to admire the leaves that were changing colors as they always do at this time of the year when I noticed the heart shape opening in the leaves. Under The Same Moon

This is such a cool picture I took of the full Blood Moon that appeared September 27, 2015. I thought this quote went beautifully with my photo: "We are never too far from each other because we are all under the same moon." On April 15, 2014, there was a total lunar eclipse which was the first of four consecutive total eclipses in a series, known as a tetrad; a second one took place on October 8, 2014, the third one on April 4, 2015 and the remaining one took place on September 27, 2015. It is one of eight tetrads to take place during the 21st century AD. As with most lunar eclipses, the moon appeared red during the April 15 2014 eclipse. The red color is caused by Rayleigh scattering of sunlight through the Earth's atmosphere, the same effect that causes sunsets to appear red.

Snail Family

On a trip down to the Florida Keys, we came across these two charming snails which I assume are related to each other. The little one had climbed on to the back of the larger snail, which I thought was adorable. I love seeing the details of the snails and their shells up close like this. You can see the pattern on their slug like body and the coiled shell and all it's ripples and patterns.

I captured this beautiful full moon over the Northern Atlantic Ocean along a beach located in Rye, New Hampshire near Concord Point. Close Up of Canada Goose

This is a close up of handsome Canada Goose they I saw swimming in pond near my home in Michigan. The Canada goose (Branta canadensis) is a large wild goose species with a black head and neck, white patches on the face, and a brown body. Like most geese, the Canada goose is primarily herbivorous and normally migratory; it tends to be found on or close to fresh water.

Female Mallard Duck Nesting in Pond

Here is a female Mallard duck that I barely saw one Spring day in a pond near my home in Michigan. She blended in with the tall dried grass so well that I almost missed seeing her there. I believe her nest (clutch) was right there as she laid down in that area for quite a while.

Here is a pair of Mallard ducks that I saw sun bathing one lovely Spring day in Michigan at a pond near my home. Mallards usually form pairs (in October and November in the Northern hemisphere) only until the female lays eggs at the start of nesting season which is around the beginning of spring, so these two have been together for a while now as this picture was taken in April.

Sweet Fluffy Grey Kitten

This is my adorably soft fluffy grey kitten who we named Smokey! What an adorable kitten he was and his sweet little face reminded my of a little bear cub! Every inch of this body is grey...his fur, his adorable nose, his eyes, his lips and his little pads on his paws. What a little cutie pie!

Pink Hydrangea

This is a closeup of a lovely pink hydrangea that was in bloom. I believe this is a lacecap type of hydrangea. Pink hydrangeas have many different meanings, but generally mean, "You are the beat of my heart," as described by the celebrated Asian florist Tan Jun Yong, where he was quoted saying, "The light delicate blush of the petals reminds me of a beating heart, while the size could only match the heart of the sender!"
