This lovely view is from the beautiful Oak Alley Plantation located in Vacherie, LA. Oak Alley Plantation is a historic plantation located on the west bank of the Mississippi River and is protected as a National Historic Landmark. This plantation dates back to 1830 and is widely known for it`s double row of southern live oak trees about 800 feet (240 meters) long, planted in the early 18th century long before the present house was built. This view that I took was from the back of the property of Oak Alley and is just as lovely as the front of the plantation house`. The big metal pot is actually an old sugar cane kettle from the Plantation and they filled them up with water and lily pads for a charming effect.
