This is a lovely picture of some pretty flowering water lilies floating in a pond on a bright sunny day. You can see three different colors of them: pink, purple and white with yellow centers! Water lilies are actually called Nymphaeaceae and live as rhizomatous aquatic herbs in temperate and tropical climates around the world. The white water lily is the national flower of Bangladesh and State flower for Andhra Pradesh, India. The Blue waterlily is the national flower of Sri Lanka. It is also the birth flower for July. The water-lily has a special place in Tamil poetics, where it is considered symbolic of the grief of separation; it is considered to evoke imagery of the sunset, the seashore and the shark.
