Tree Lined Path Of Oak Alley Plantation In Louisiana
This is the famous and historic antique old oak tree lined pathway leading up to Oak Alley Plantation in Vacherie, LA which is not far from New Orleans. Oak Alley Plantation is a historic plantation located on the west bank of the Mississippi River and is protected as a National Historic Landmark. This plantation dates back to 1830 and is widely known for it`s double row of southern live oak trees about 800 feet (240 meters) long, planted in the early 18th century long before the present house was built. This is the magnificent view of the front of Oak Alley Plantation. When you walk through the French doors out onto the 2nd floor balcony, this is the beautiful view of the oak trees the line the path to the Mississippi River. Such a stunning sight to see! This lovely plantation home has a two story wrap around porch with a gabled roof top and majestic Greek Rival columns. It is such a lovely and beautiful place to visit!
