Well, I haven't posted here for the last several days because I have been fighting a nasty cold. It has really been a doozey and has kicked my butt! I even called in sick to work on Sunday night. Not much fun being sick, that's for sure. I just hope that my kids don't catch it, esp. my 4 year old!
I had a great shopping trip this past Friday at my local thrift stores! I found a set of two matching vintage hat stands for only $2.95 each! They will be perfect for me to put some of my vintage hats on to display on my dresser or even on my daughter's dresser! I love that they match, too! I will take a picture for you all to see when I am feeling better.
I also picked up 2 grab bags of plain white envelopes that will be perfect for when I make cards! They were only .95 for each bag and they probably have about 100 envelopes in each! I also found a grab bag of neat little drawstring muslin baggies and again, it was only .95 for the bag of 26 or so bags. I have been toying with the idea of opening up an Esty Shop and I can use the baggies to put in loose misc. altered items in for cute packaging! Then I found an adorable Lily Pulitzer outfit for my daughter that was only $3.00! It was a skort with matching top in a hot pink with green palm trees design and it looks adorable on her! I found all of that at one of my favorite thift stores.
I then decided to head over to another thrift store near me, but I hardly visit. Well, I didn't find any cool vintage treasures there, but I did find a pair of adorable dress shoes for my daughter. There were barely worn and were black velvet/suede like with an embroidered flower with some beads on the toe area. Nothing gaudy...it was very subtle and all done in black. I then found a pair of Disney Crocs for a child and they were the red Disney ones with Mickey Mouse holes and a black strap. It also had a cute metal and enamel bee charm in one of the holes. After I paid for my two items and I was walking to the door, I saw a cart with some purses sitting there behind the register near the door. So, I stopped because one of the purses caught my eye! Sure enough, it was a blue Vera Bradley backpack purse! Yeah! It wasn't priced, so I asked the clerk how much it was? She looked at it quickly without seeing the VB label and said $3.00! I replied "I'll take it!" and went back in line to buy it! So, all in all...it was a great shopping day for me! Woo Hoo!!!! I love shopping at thrift stores because you never know what treasures you will find!
