Mr. Turtle

Here is a handsome Turtle relaxing on some reeds in a pond on a beautiful warm sunny day. I like you can see the details of his face and his shell. Turtles are reptiles of the order Testudines characterized by a special bony or cartilaginous shell developed from their ribs and acting as a shield. Turtles are ectotherms—their internal temperature varies according to the ambient environment, commonly called cold-blooded. Turtles are classified as amniotes which breathe air and do not lay eggs underwater, although many species live in or around water.
