Close Up of Canada Goose

This is a close up of handsome Canada Goose they I saw swimming in pond near my home in Michigan. The Canada goose (Branta canadensis) is a large wild goose species with a black head and neck, white patches on the face, and a brown body. Like most geese, the Canada goose is primarily herbivorous and normally migratory; it tends to be found on or close to fresh water.

Female Mallard Duck Nesting in Pond

Here is a female Mallard duck that I barely saw one Spring day in a pond near my home in Michigan. She blended in with the tall dried grass so well that I almost missed seeing her there. I believe her nest (clutch) was right there as she laid down in that area for quite a while.

Here is a pair of Mallard ducks that I saw sun bathing one lovely Spring day in Michigan at a pond near my home. Mallards usually form pairs (in October and November in the Northern hemisphere) only until the female lays eggs at the start of nesting season which is around the beginning of spring, so these two have been together for a while now as this picture was taken in April.

Fluttering Leaves

I loved how the sunlight was filtering through these gorgeous Maple Tree's leaves showing off the lovely orange color change. I thought this quote from Emily Bronte went well with the image of these fluttering leaves..."Every leaf speaks bliss to me, fluttering from the autumn tree."

Peach Rose

What a beautiful peach colored rose! I loved how perfect each of the petals were and opening up to show off it's glorious beauty hiding within itself! I could almost smell the rose just looking at it!

Beautiful Crocus

This is a beautiful purple and white variegated crocus that was blooming on a lovely sunny day. Love the play of the sunlight streaming through the petals showing off the purple veins on the white petals.
